Gabion Basket - Flexible and Permeable Stone Container

Gabion basket also named gabion box, is weaved by corrosion resistance, high strength and good ductility galvanized wire or PVC coating wire through mechanical. Wire's material is zinc-5% aluminum alloy (galfan), low carbon steel, stainless steel or iron. Gabion mattress is similar to gabion basket. But gabion mattress's height is lower than gabion basket, structure is flat and big. Gabion basket and gabion mattress are stone containers, uniformly partitioned into internal cells, interconnected with other containers and filled with stone at site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures to control and guide water or flood, protect dam or seawall, or used as retaining walls, channel lining and other applications.

GB-1: Gabion baskets contain stones to control or guide water.

GB-2: Strong galvanized hexagonal wire mesh can be used for gabion basket.

GB-3: Gabion basket can have two cells.

GB-4: Gabion baskets filled with stones pile up as retaining wall to prevent soil glissade.

GB-5: PVC coated gabion basket has better corrosion resistance to maintain a longer life.

GM-1: PVC coated hexagonal wire mesh can be used for gabion mattress.

GM-2: Gabion mattress has lower height, so it can adapt any terrain.

GM-3: Gabion mattress has lower height and flexible structure.

GM-4: Gabion mattress can form a hard flat road, especially in the founderous road.

Specifications:

• Material: low carbon steel wire, stainless steel wire, iron wire.
• Surface treatment: galfan, galvanized, PVC coated, galvanized plus PVC coated.
• Mesh opening shape: hexagon.
• Weaving method: normal twist (double twisted or triple twisted), reverse twist (double twisted).
• Nominal thickness of PVC coating layer is 0.50 mm to 1.00 mm.
• Galvanized is hot dipped galvanized. Thickness of galvanized layer can be manufactured according to customer's requirement, most can reach 300 g/m².
• The height of gabion mattress is 0.17 - 0.5 m.
• Tensile strength of wire is above 380 Mpa. The weight of zinc layer is above 245 g/m². Selvedge wire is cruder than the mesh wire. Lacing wire is thinner than the mesh wire, such as mesh wire is 3.0 mm, selvedge wire is 3.9 mm, lacing wire is 2.4 mm.
• Length, width and height can be customized.

Zinc-aluminum alloy is called Galfan in foreign, zinc coating is high zinc plus aluminum. Aluminum content is 5-10%, zinc content is 90-95% in Galfan. The meaning of Galfan is "an extraordinary galvanized". Corrosion resistance of the products is about 2-3 times that of ordinary galvanized. Currently, Galfan galvanized wire mainly used in gabion basket.
