Galvanized Hexagonal Wire Mesh for Durable Fence
Galvanized hexagonal wire mesh is also known as chicken wire, chicken fencing, hexagonal wire mesh and hex wire mesh. This kind of hexagonal wire mesh is woven by iron wire, low carbon steel wire, or stainless steel wire, then galvanized. There are two styles of galvanized: electro galvanized (cold galvanized) and hot dipped galvanized. Lightweight galvanized wire mesh can be used for chicken wire, rabbit fence, rockfall netting and stucco mesh, heavyweight wire mesh is used for gabion basket or gabion sack. Galvanized chicken wire's performance of corrosion, rust and oxidation resistance is well, so it is popular among customers.

Note
Hot dipped galvanized is dipped in the hot melted liquid zinc, speed of producing is fast, plating is thick but not uniform, lowest thickness what market allow is 45 micron, highest is above 300 micron. Color is a little dim, the number of zinc consuming is high, galvanized layer and base metal form penetrate layer, the ability of corrosion resistance is well, hot dipped galvanized can maintain decades in outdoor environment.
Electro galvanized is galvanizing to the metal surface through unidirectional of electric current in the plating bath. Speeding of producing is slow, plating is uniform, thickness is thin, thickness usually is 3 to 15 micron, exterior is bright, the ability of corrosion resistance is bad, the wire will corrode only several months. Compared with hot dipped galvanized, the cost of electro galvanized is low.
Differences between hot dipped galvanized and electro galvanized: the number of galvanized is different. We can recognition from their color, electro galvanized wire is bright, color is silvery white with yellow, while hot dipped galvanized is white.
