Rockfall Netting for Controlling Rocks Fall
Rockfall netting is hexagonal wire mesh supplied in the form of roll installed on cliff, slope or mountain. It is woven by low carbon steel wire, stainless steel wire or galfan wire with the surface of galvanized, PVC coated or galvanized plus PVC coated. Its mainly application is prevent rocks and debris from falling onto roads, railways or other buildings. On the top of the cliff, there must be a row of rock bolt to fix the mesh. Hexagonal wire mesh could be one layer or two layers, usually has steel wire rope ring or steel wire rope and rivet to fix. Galvanized or galfan rockfall netting is the most popular.
RN-1: Rockfall netting is hexagonal wire mesh to prevent rocks from falling onto roads.
RN-2: Rockfall netting hangs on the mountain to avoid rocks falling on railway.
RN-3: Proactive rockfall netting, two layers hexagonal mesh, steel wire rope anchored.
Rockfall netting can be divided into proactive rockfall netting and passive rockfall netting. Above mentioned that anchor hexagonal wire mesh and steel wire rope mesh on mountain is proactive rockfall netting. Its purpose is to prevent rocks of mountain falling. In addition, rockfall netting installed on half of mountain or mountain foot to prevent rocks falling on road or hurting people is called passive rockfall netting. As shown below:

Features of rockfall netting
